The Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID) was founded on December 22, 1972, in the small town of Dandeli, Karnataka, by a visionary group of leaders from the trade fraternity. Reflecting on its journey, IIID has come a long way with much to celebrate, marked by numerous milestones and achievements over the years. This Golden Jubilee NATCON is not only an occasion to honor our legacy but also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to "Design for the Times."

Design is as much a legacy as it is a fountainhead of new ideas, seeking creative solutions to situations that are both topical and timely. Today, design seeks relevance and validation more than ever. At this NATCON, we present experiences and concepts under this unifying theme-ranging from Wellness, Sustainability, and Inclusiveness to Technology-all with a vision for a better future for humanity.
DESIGN KUMBH
The Kumbh Mela – is well associated with Nashik City, and the Kumbh or Pot represents the confluence of all cultures, while being a symbol of spiritual awakening. This NATCON holds its own importance of being a confluence of Design Ideas, helping us all Hold & Churn knowledge constantly while we understand the importance of letting it Pour and Flow for continuity through generations, as we interact and exchange newer insights.
The Indian Institute of Interior Designers (ID) proudly presents NATCON 2025- its landmark Golden Jubilee National Convention with the resounding theme, ‘Design for the Times’. As the leading professional organization for interior design in India, IIID unites a network of over 10,000 members spanning 35 Chapters & Centres across the country, and extends its influence to more than 40 countries through meaningful international collaborations. This milestone convention will be held from January 30th to February 1st in the culturally vibrant city of Nashik, a place known for its rich heritage and the iconic Kumbh Mela- a fitting venue for what will be the “Maha Kumbh of Design.”
NATCON 2025 envisions a gathering of over 1,500 designers, architects, thought leaders, and students from across India and beyond. More than just an event, this convention is set to be a powerful confluence of ideas, insights, and forward-thinking innovations that shape the future of design. It will be a platform where industry leaders and rising talents converge to engage in a dialogue that transcends borders, reshapes perspectives, and drives the design profession toward new heights.
Over the course of three transformative days, NATCON 2025 will offer a diverse array of sessions, workshops, and immersive experiences centered around four critical themes addressing today’s most pressing design challenges:

This “Kumbh” of design, beyond celebrating IIID’s illustrious journey, is a rallying point for those devoted to building a future that is responsive and resilient. To further elevate the experience the IIID NRC DESIGN X 2.0 Mega Tradeshow will also run parallel to the convention, commencing from January 30th and showcasing breakthrough advancements in design.
